Andy Arenz has been teaching in the Twin Falls School District for 16 years. During that time, Arenz has taught fourth grade, science block, and finally fifth grade. While it is hard to be smarter than a Rock Creek fifth grader, Mr. Arenz does his best to stay a step ahead of the students. “We have amazing students, and it’s fun to see where their learning takes them,” Arenz said. He has four kids with his wife, Raquel. While not teaching, you may find Andy on hiking trails, visiting his grown children in Boise, or making pizza. In a previous life, Arenz was a local journalist.
Marilu grew up in Twin Falls and graduated from Twin Falls High School. She is married to Jeff. They have two kids, Valerie and Kaden, who keep them very busy with sports and after school activities. Marilu says, “I love being part of Rock Creek!”
Bedford is from Philadelphia, PA. He loves his hometown and all things Philly. Bedford is a sports fanatic, especially football and basketball, and loves watching old movies in his spare time. Bedford has worked in security positions for over 10 years. He started at Rock Creek in 2018. He loves building positive relationships with the Rock Creek students and feels his job is very rewarding. Bedford is married to Mrs. Brown, a 2nd grade teacher. He has 3 children and 2 adorable dogs.
Annette grew up in the Twin Falls School District, going home each night and pretending to be a teacher. She is so proud to now actually teach here. She has been teaching second grade since 2007. Annette graduated from Idaho State University with Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. Several years later, she returned and completed her Master’s Degree in Human Resource Training and Development. Mrs. Brown enjoys playing volleyball and spending time with her family, and enjoys having several of those family members attend Rock Creek Elementary.

Mrs. Cates moved to Idaho in 2010. Before that, she lived in Los Angeles and worked in the education field and film industry. There, she met her husband David. She has 2 grown sons, David and Daniel.
Larissa Cheney graduated from Idaho State University with high honors with a degree in Elementary Education. She has lived in five states. She loves to collect things and dress up! She decided she wanted to be a teacher for sure in sixth grade and worked tirelessly at her dream until it became a reality. She has taught fourth grade and first grade.
Pauli Connelley graduated from College of Southern Idaho and Idaho State University with an Elementary Education Bachelor’s Degree. She has been teaching since 2006. Pauli has taught fourth, fifth, and sixth grade. She has two children, Tayson and Trevyn.
I graduated from Wendell High School, and then attended Boise State University to obtain my Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice. I eventually decided to go back to school, and earned my Master of Science through Walden University in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Reading & Literacy. I have taught 4th and 5th grade. I live with my husband, Tyler, and my 4 boys; Trenten, Tyten, Treysen & Tate. We have a beta fish named T.T. We enjoy being active, playing sports, going on adventures, as well as just hanging out together as a family!
Hello my name is Kristie Corujo. I moved to Idaho in 2010. Before I moved to Idaho I owned a before and after school program. I am married and have 2 children. In college I studied Early Childhood Development. I love teaching children to learn new things. I am very excited to be part of Rock Creek.
Julie has been practicing as a Speech-Language Pathologist for the past 8 years, before that she taught special education preschool for 3 years.
She has 7 kids, and loves to sew outside of work.
Julie Delia moved from Minnesota to Twin Falls to begin her teaching career in 1985. She taught Title One Reading, 2nd grade, and 4th grade at Lincoln Elementary School. When Oregon Trail Elementary School was built, she was part of the 1st year staff teaching 4th graders. Eventually Julie transferred grade levels to teach 5th graders. With the opening of Rock Creek Elementary School, Julie decided to make the move to another new school. Ms. Delia enjoys going to work each day. She loves the challenges and learning opportunities that go on each day in the classroom. Her fellow Twin Falls teachers and administrators have inspired her to continually learn and try new teaching strategies. Julie Delia is very thankful each day that she has an occupation that she enjoys and a school district that has challenged her to become a better educator.
Holly has been teaching for 23 years. 10 years at Robert Stuart in 8th grade and 12 years in Kindergarten.
She is married and has 2 children, Braeden and Emma.
Melina Ficek has been teaching since 2011. She has taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades. She has a master’s degree in Educational leadership and is excited to be a part of the Rock Creek Staff. Melina is married and has 3 children and a very cute dog!
I have taught in the Twin Falls School District since 2004, and worked as a paraprofessional for the Filer School District for 15 years prior to that, while operating the family farm for 25 years with my wife and parents. Diana and I have two grown children, our daughter teaching high school in Central Oregon, and our son graduating law school to practice bankruptcy law in Arizona. Diana and I have almost always worked together, (Which some say is crazy!), I have enjoyed my time teaching, and really like it here at Rock Creek Elementary. Without a doubt, it is the best place to be!
Kristi grew up in Sherwood, Oregon. She moved to Idaho in August 2012 to start her first teaching position, teaching first grade in Shoshone. In 2015, she went to Perrine Elementary and taught second and then third grade. In 2018, she had her daughter Lucy and now teaches half-time kindergarten, here at Rock Creek.
In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family and friends, doing projects around the house, crafting, and kayaking.
I began teaching my teaching career in 2002. I graduated from CSI in 1999 and then BSU in 2002 with a Bachelor’s degee in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Bilingual Education. I then graduated from NNU with my Master’s degree in reading in 2008. Throughout the course of my career I have taught every grade except kindergarten and have enjoyed each for the uniqueness that comes with each grade level. Knowing that I had a role in helping kids feel confident, successful and loved makes my job the very best! My husband of 33 years, Roger and I enjoy camping, fishing, gardening and spending time with our grandchildren.
A Jerome Tiger alumni, Mrs. Honas graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Boise State University in 2009. She taught kindergarten at Lincoln Elementary for nine years. In 2015 Mrs. Honas was named Teacher of the Year by the Twin Falls Education Foundation. She graduated with a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Idaho in 2017. In her spare time she likes to travel, shop, and spend time with family and friends. She has a husband, two children, Jamison and Ryan, and two dogs. Mrs. Honas’ favorite part of being the assistant principal at Rock Creek Elementary is the interaction and relationships she has with the students. Go Raptors!
I am a true Twin Falls girl. I was born and raised in Twin. I went to elementary school at Morningside…go Mustangs! I graduated from Twin Falls High School in 2003. From there I attended to the College of Southern Idaho. After graduating from CSI, I was able to go to Idaho State University. I have been a teacher for the last 8 fabulous years!
My husband and I have been married for 12 years and have two beautiful daughters. Our daughters are Hadley and Halle. We love to spend our free time on the water, swimming and kayaking.
Margie was born and raised in Twin Falls. She is married and has 3 children. Margie is an animal lover and has 4 dogs and 2 cats. Her favorite thing to do is kayak on the beautiful Snake River.
I am married and have 2 kiddos, Eli and Zane. I love my job. I have been a paraeducator many years. I have worked for the Twin Falls School District since 2015.
I was born and raised in Wyoming until I was 15. My family moved to California where I graduated from high school and went on to college. I graduated with a BA in Liberal Studies from CA State University Sacramento.
After graduation I moved back to Wyoming where I met my husband. We have been married since 1994. We have two boys, Spencer and Nathan who are in high school. We also have one dog, Goliath (a Pomeranian), and two cats, Mittens and Hiccup.
I finished my degree in Elementary Education in 2000 and have been teaching since 2008. I have taught art, kindergarten, and first grade. My biggest adventure by far was teaching for 3 years at a rural school in the mountains of central Wyoming. I taught all grades k-6 at that school. I have lived in Idaho since 2015. Kids are “my people.”
When I am not teaching I love to work in my yard, read, sew, and kayak.
Mrs. Naranjo graduated from the California School of Culinary Arts, Le Cordon Bleu program in 2001. She moved to Twin Falls, Idaho in 2013. She has worked for the school district since 2015. Mrs. Naranjo lives with her husband, Jaime, and their two children, Alyce and Charles. When shes not working she loves spending time with her family and baking!!!
Katrina grew up in Maryland but came out west to attend college at Ricks College and Brigham Young University. She married an Idaho boy and wound up in Twin Falls. They have been married since 1995 and have 3 daughters. Katrina worked in the Filer School District for 16 years in various special education positions. She took the position of RCES K-5 special education resource teacher when the school opened in 2016. In her spare time she loves to be with her family and enjoys crosstitching Christmas ornaments and painting dot art.
Sheri grew up in El Dorado Kansas. She moved to Idaho in 1992 and graduated from Idaho State University in 1995 with a BA in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Early Childhood Education. She began teaching 1st grade at Oregon Trail Elementary in 1995. Since then she has been in several different states and in the Caribbean, each destination has generated new teaching experiences.
Sheri has 2 daughters, Natasha and Natalie. She loves spending time with her family and friends and enjoys being outside doing pretty much anything during the spring and summer months.
A graduate from the University of Montana with a bachelors degree in Psychology and a Masters of Arts in Counseling, Mrs. Pehrson moved to Twin Falls in 2007 and has worked in the Twin Falls School District since then. She has worked as both a Student Assistant Specialist at O’Leary and Robert Stuart Middle School, and a School Counselor at Robert Stuart MS, Canyon Ridge HS, and most currently, Rock Creek Elementary. Being an elementary school counselor has been a life changing experience and one that she enjoys immensely. Mrs. Pehrson lives with her husband, Justin and their three children. When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, making earrings, reading books, and shopping! She loves working with the students, staff, and parents at Rock Creek. KoLei was born in a small town, Downey Idaho, and grew up & graduated in Jerome. She married her high school sweetheart and has been happily married for 14 years. They have 4 children, 3 girls and 1 boy, 1 gold fish, 5 beta fish, and a bearded dragon. She grew up helping her mom with their in-home day care, was a nanny a couple of times, and worked in a couple daycares. When she had her first child, she decided to be at home while raising her children. She opened an in-home daycare for about 6 years. KoLei took the position as Rock Creek Librarian when the doors opened in 2016. She has always loved helping children learn and grow.
Michelle is married to Jeff. They have two children, Josh and Gabi. They also have a dog, Max, and a cat, Buttercup. Michelle has been teaching since 1993. This year’s class is Michelle’s favorite class at her favorite school! Here are a few of Michelle’s favorite things:
1. Places to visit: Hawaii, Puerta Vallarta, Lodi, CA (her hometown)
2. Hobbies: reading, photography, line dancing, shopping
3. Food: seafood and Mexican food
4. Candy: Skittles, Starbursts, Reese’s, Peanut M&M’s, Tootsie Rolls, Red Vines, Snickers (she could go on…..)
Mrs. Rush has been a teacher for over 10 years. She graduated from Northern Arizona University with her B.S. in Elementary Education in 2003 and M.Ed. in 2008. She is married and has 4 kids (3 at CRHS and 1 here at Rock Creek). When she isn’t singing her heart out or playing the ukulele, she likes to bake, read, and go shopping.
Hello my name is Angela Van Hofwegen and I teach 3rd grade at Rock Creek Elementary. I feel in love with teaching when I was in High School. I knew after a semester of shadowing a 6th grade teacher that I would be an educator for life! It has been a dream that has come true. I went to CSI for two years and then on to Boise State, Go Broncos! It is at BSU that I fell in love and got married after graduation. I got my first teaching job in Kuna, Idaho! My young husband decided to go into education as well. He finished his college degree just as we had our first child! After two years of teaching Kindergarten in Kuna, Idaho I stayed home with my two kids for two years. Then I got a Kindergarten position in Buhl, Idaho where I stayed for four years. I love teaching, my family and I am truly a woman of faith! I feel blessed to truly love my job and what I do. Go Raptors!
I have been teaching for 14 years. I enjoy teaching second grade at Rock Creek.
Mrs. Victor graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. She has been teaching for 21 years. She started her career in the West Ada School District and has taught in the Twin Falls School District these last two years. She has taught second grade the majority of her career. Rock Creek Elementary is now her home here in Twin Falls and she is grateful to be a part of a student centered and community oriented school.

Frogs just might be her favorite animal, as her classroom seems to have been taken over by the little green critters….inanimate ones of course!
